With our iPhone app, you can take Swirl with you wherever and whenever you go shopping. Once you've shopped with Swirl, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. It's a shopping experience that's as unique as your personal style.
A clip is simply an image of a product. It could be a dress, a pair of shoes, a handbag, a shirt, or any other fashion item. Think of it as the virtual equivalent of a picture of an inspiring style that you cut from a catalogue or magazine. Within Swirl you'll find thousands of clips that have already been contributed by brands as well as other Swirl users. You can save any of these images and organize them into your own collections by clicking on the "clip" button that can be found below every product image on swirl.com and the Swirl iPhone app. If you install the "clip to Swirl" button on your web browser's bookmark bar (instructions can be found here), you'll be able to save images from other sites that you browse from your computer.
"Clipping" products allows you to save and organize the items that you want to buy. You can view your clips by collection, by store or by category. Swirl will even alert when any of your clipped items goes on sale. When you are ready to go shopping, use the Swirl iPhone app to locate your clips, along with all relevant offers, at nearby stores.
A collection is a grouping of clips. It's a fun and easy way for you to organize the styles that you want to buy. Collections could range from "Fall Wardrobe Inspirations" to "Shoe Addiction" to "My Fashion Basics" to "Birthday Wish List". Every time you clip an item, you put it into a collection. You can create as many collections as you like and you can you can share your collections with others on Swirl. You can set individual privacy settings for each Collection, including private (only you can see the Collection), friends (you specify which of your Facebook friends can see your collection) or public (your collection is visible to all Swirl users).
Swirl puts you in complete control of sharing by allowing you to set individual privacy levels for each of your collections and clips. All of your clips belong to a collection and each of your collections has its own privacy setting that you manage.
A PRIVATE collection is visible only to you. Nobody else will be able to view that collection or the clips you put in that collection. It's the perfect way to keep that secret shopping list secret.
A FRIENDS collection allows you to select specific Facebook friends that will be allowed to view and comment on your collection. Use it to compare notes and create a shared collection among your favorite shopping companions.
A PUBLIC collection is visible to anyone on Swirl. It's a great way for you to showcase your style and help the Swirl community of fashion lovers to discover new styles and products.
The "clip to Swirl" button is a handy tool that lets you clip images from any site you visit on the Internet. Any image that you clip from anywhere on the Internet will be added to a Swirl collections and you can access it anytime you are looking for some shopping inspiration.
You can install this simple but powerful tool by dragging the "clip to Swirl" button to the bookmark bar on your browser. Once you do that, simply visit your favorite fashion web sites. When you see something that interests you just click on the "clip to Swirl" button from your bookmark bar and a window will pop-up asking you to select the image you are interested in clipping. It's an easy, fun and powerful way to keep track of products from all of your favorite websites.
You can download the Swirl iPhone app by visiting the Apple App Store on your computer or by opening the App Store icon on your iPhone and entering "swirl" in the search bar. After you install the app you'll be able to take your clips, collections and offers with you to your favorite stores. The Shop Nearby tab on the Swirl iPhone app is where the magic happens. When you click Shop Nearby, you will be shown a list of all the stores near your current location, along with your personal clips and any current offers at stores in the area. Use the Shop Nearby feature as your handy guide whenever you shop. With Shop Nearby, you can get directions or easily call the store to be sure they have the specific item, size, or color that you're interested in. If you want to plan a shopping trip that is beyond the immediate area, you can move the map in Shop Nearby to a different location or increase the search radius.
