Swirl Named as Finalist for 2017 Local Search Association Ad-To-Action Award For Innovation in Location-Based Marketing

BOSTON, MA – Swirl Networks Inc., the leading Mobile Presence Marketing platform provider, has been selected as a finalist for the 2017 Ad-To-Action Award in the Best Use of Location category. Produced by the Local Search Association (LSA), the Ad-To-Action Awards celebrate innovation in the local media and marketing industry.

With 172 entries submitted, this year’s program attracted entries from some of the most prominent media publishers, agencies and technology providers in the local marketing industry. Swirl was selected as one of 22 finalists by a panel of expert judges based on innovation, ability to impact consumer actions (calls, clicks, store visits, etc.), ROI potential, ease of implementation and several other criteria. Finalists reflect the most effective campaigns and tools to drive local consumer actions and address current market needs.

“The number of submissions and sheer caliber of the solutions pushing to further blur the lines between digital and physical channels is impressive,” said award judge Sherry Thomas-Zon, product management, mobile at Macy’s. “From engaging consumers with creative time-and-location based campaigns, to deploying rich analytics and extended personalization to in-store experiences, it was a pleasure to review such thought-provoking concepts and innovations.”

Swirl’s Mobile Presence Marketing platform helps leading retailers connect the digital and physical worlds, enabling greater levels of personalization across all channels and customer touchpoints. Powered by near and in-store location signals including GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth beacons and Visible Light Communication (VLC), the Swirl platform allows retail marketers to connect with mobile consumers to drive meaningful business results. From increasing basket size to driving store and department-level traffic, the Swirl platform helps retailers get more from every shopper visit.

“With the proliferation of location signals embedded in beacons, WiFi access points, payment terminals and light fixtures, coupled with Google’s enablement of Nearby Notifications on nearly every Android smartphone, proximity-based indoor mobile marketing is quickly scaling,” said Swirl founder and CEO Hilmi Ozguc. “We’re proud that LSA has recognized Swirl as a leader in the location-based marketing space and we look forward to continuing our work with top retailers and brand advertisers as we shape the future of retailing.”

LSA will be announcing the winners at the LSA17 Conference in San Diego on February 27th. Details about the conference and the complete list of finalists can be found at
